Article 2 of the Convention. List of trades and industries covered against occupational diseases. The Government indicates in its report that, in accordance with section 24 of the Workmen’s Compensation Act, Chapter 15:0 of the revised Laws of Montserrat, employers must take out compulsory insurance against workmen’s compensation. The types of employment covered are: any employment connected with: (i) building, construction, structural work; (ii) woodworking machinery or sawmill, sugar factory, foundry, docks, wharves, or quays and loading and unloading of ships; (iii) mining and forestry; and (iv) dangerous operations. The Committee would be grateful if the Government would confirm whether all workers involved in trades and industries mentioned in the right column of the table appended to the Convention, where such exist in Montserrat, are covered against occupational diseases listed in the left column.
