Employment Policy Convention, 1964 (No. 122) - Cameroon (Ratification: 1970)

Article 1 of the Convention. Youth employment. In its previous comments, the Committee requested the Government to provide detailed information on the manner in which the implementation of various initiatives has facilitated young people’s access to productive employment. In its previous report, the Government referred to a number of initiatives aimed at young people, such as the National Youth Employment Plan, the Young Farmers’ Employment Support Programme, the Rural and Urban Youth Support Programme (PAJER–U) and the youth employment project through the manufacture of sports equipment. The Committee once again requests the Government to provide further information, including statistics disaggregated by sex and age, on the manner in which the implementation of various youth initiatives has facilitated their access to productive and lasting employment. It also requests the Government to indicate the measures and programmes implemented or envisaged to promote youth employment and reduce youth unemployment and precarious employment.
Employment of women. The Committee once again requests the Government to provide up-to-date information on the results achieved by the programmes implemented to integrate women into the labour market.
Small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). The Committee once again requests the Government to provide information on the impact of the measures taken to reduce the obstacles faced by SMEs in start-up activities and to promote job creation in SMEs.
